  • Book Club Interview

Las Comadres and Friends National Latino Book Club sent me a note about the January 2024 teleconference in which I was featured: “It was a great evening and our book club members truly enjoyed spending some time with you and listening to you reading your poems. Your conversation was both moving and very inspirational as we listened to you talk about Alborada (Dawn): A Cross-Cultural Memoir in Poetry and your writing process. We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did.”

The recording of the interview can be found on the Las Comadres YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cvit8Hn_I8 starting at 21:31.

  • Speak From the Heart

One of the most moving events during Pride Month 2024 was held at the Winter Park Public Library: "Speak From the Heart." The Orlando Gay Choir touched everyone's hearts with their beautiful a capella music and I was gratified to be able to share my poem "To The Young Transgender Poet, a Heart-to-Heart with Lee Mokobe" with an appreciative audience.

  • Winter Park Paint Out

Once again, it was my privilege to participate in the Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens' yearly Paint Out event. I introduced a plein aire (outdoors) watercolor painting demonstration with Russian artist Natalia Andreeva titled “Blossoms in the Breeze” with my poem “Plein Aire Poppies.” The enlightening and moving experience inspired me to write this blog.
